| freakin A man. I don't see you!
LOL | | |
| So, I'm at the University of California, Berkeley... I am officially an alumni of Southwest High School in San Diego, California... and I'm a quarter of my way through my freshman year. What the heck happened to all the time I had? The last time I truly updated this thing was before classes started. Thus, I would like to summarize what has happened to me since then, and just be random.
- on average, 75% of your grade depends on the tests you take (and you only take like 2-4 tests a semester).
- the curve can really suck sometimes, especially when everyone in your class is really smart.
- but the curve can also be really good to you if you know what you are doing.
- midterms aren't THAT hard.
- make sure to limit your mistakes. I made a couple of stupid mistakes on my physics and math midterms.... and let me tell you, you need perfection to get an A.
- Everyone here is HELLA smart.
- You don't see the different social groups you saw in high school. No socials, the "asians", the "Filipino tree", jocks, nerds, etc. The way I see it, there are only 2 groups: The lazy ones, and the even lazier ones.
- College schedules can be great to you if you're not an engineer. One of my friends has class only on Tuesday and Thursday. wtf is that.
- Giving a girl Peanut M&M's and Pooh bears in a unique fashion is a very good way to make a girl happy for her birthday, <3.
- I'm addicted to Super Smash Bros. Melee. I probably spend half my day playing that stuff... Ray and Edward always come up and we just play without end.
- I love my floormates.
- You can never forget your true homies. And I am talking about you guys in San Diego whom I miss very much. =)
- The "Big C" is a great place to ask a girl out.
- Smart girls are hot.
- There are way too many bums out here.
- San Fransisco is grrreat (mmm Bubba Gump Shrimp).
- My second wave of midterms are coming up.
Blah, I got tired of listing things. I was in San Diego recently. My mom is going to the Philippines soon and I won't see her until Christmas, so I thought I would go see her. Also, I went with Roxie to the SOH homecoming dance. It was pretty fun associating with those young'uns again. It makes me feel so old to go to one of those things.

| Hey, I know it's been a while. I'll update this thing when I feel like it okay? K. | | |
| It's been a while since I updated this thing. My current situation: I
moved to Berkeley on Sunday and it's been some kind of crazy. I'm on
the 5th floor of Cunningham Hall in Unit 2 at the University of
California, Berkeley.
BTW, Ashley told me to make this a HELLA long entry, so... I'll try.
I've noticed many things about living near NorCal. For one thing, what
is with everyone saying "hella" all the time? It's crazy because it's
rubbing off on me now. Another thing, there is no real Mexican food.
Carne Asada is a commodity and California Burritos don't even exist up
here. At least the food in "Crossroads" is good. That is basically our
school cafeteria.
My floor is pretty damn cool. We talk about the most random things at
times whenever we're all together. For instance, last night we were in
the lounge on our floor, and while I was on the phone with my mom they
suddenly got into the topic of pornography. The question was: "Would
you rather watch a porno with your parents, or would you rather watch a
porno with your parents in it?"
Gross, huh. Well, I had the balls to go out on the balcony and let the
whole world what we were talking about. We got in trouble but it was
still HELLA funny. As you can see, I am CAPS LOCKing every time I say
"HELLA". This is done simply because it puts emphasis on how annoyed I
get with the word.
Today was the orientation for engineers. It was alright, but I
practically fell asleep. Two nights ago, there was a
dance/poker/kareoke night. It was pretty interesting considering there
was this dealer who I think was high as hell. At times, he would just
cheer and give a stack of money to someone in the audience. It was
madness.
Ashley is HELLA A.D.D.
Sheena's debut = fun.

Yay!

No explanation needed.
The last week I spent in San Diego was crazy fun, or "crun" (like
"crunk" is crazy drunk?). I'm sorry if I couldn't spend as much itme as
I could with certain people and I hopefully will make it up to you guys
when I get back. Let us recap. Maribel's party on Sunday was a very
interesting day. I ended up staying at Sheena's until 3 AM watching
scary movies and such. Monday, I chilled at my lola's house with the
rest of my cousins, and we played pokemon cards. Isn't that corny?
Tuesday, those same cousins came over and we went swimming. Good times
in that pool. I left early to go have dinner with some friends at
Denny's. It was fun seeing all the people I saw there for some goodbyes.
Wednesday, I went to the SOH PAA meeting at school because I was bored
in Eastlake (like always). After that meeting, I took some of the young
ones to the movies and we watched "The Skeleton Key". For reference,
the "young ones" are Ashley, Earvin, Gene, and B-rad. What did I learn
from that movie? B-rad is easily frightened. Man, it was HELLA funny
when he grabbed my arm. I love you man, you were even more frightened
than Ashley.

Movies!

Sorry, it's kind of off-center.

Gangsta Status!
After the movie, the young ones and I went to the park, played b-ball,
and went on swings. We were eventually joined by Roxie and Maribel and
we continued our frollicking through the fields.

Good times.
After the park, we chilled at the mall and did committed some very gay crimes.

Is it a crime to hold lingerie?

Is it a crime to hold hands?

Is it a crime to hold a purse... with a friend who is also doing the same thing?
Yup. After the gay times at the mall, I dropped the little ones off and
I went to Dick's Last Resort in downtown with Tim, Marco, and Katie...
some old friends. It was a great restuarant: the waiters treat you like
shit, the food mats are butcher paper, and there are practically no
rules. Everyone throws napkins at each other, and it's just mad chaos.
Good times indeed.
Thursday was dedicated to Bel and Roxie. I spent the entire day with them... And then, Andrew arrived. 0_0

We danced to the N'Sync DVD that Roxie made us watch and we just had
good times as friends. Other things happened that I cannot speak of.
Haha.
Friday was a sad day, but a very interesting one as well.I woke up at
around 8 AM and I started going to peoples' houses to say my goodbyes.
I dropped by so many peoples' homes that day, and I am truly sorry if I
was not able to say bye to you in person. After most of the goodbyes, I
went to my cousin's birthday party and chilled with my whole family. I
said my goodbyes, had more good times, and ate good food. Afterwards, I
dropped by Josh's party, said more goodbyes, and left with Ashley to go
to the PAA bonfire. On the way to Josh's party, I said bye to Travis,
whom I consider my best friend. He is in boot camp right now, probably
doing push-ups because he doesn't know when to shut his mouth
sometimes. He's going to be freakin buff and disciplined when he gets
back.
Anyways, on the way to the bonfire, we saw fireworks. It was pretty
because we were on the strand. When we got to the bonfire, Ashley and I
climbed up a tower and we watched the waves crash into the shoreline.
It was prety at times but it was HELLA cold! Good times though.
Everyone else seemed to think there was something else going on, so
Jenny was sent to investigate. WTF, HELLA stalker status (hey,
alliteration). After that, I said my goodbyes to the people at the
bonfire, brought Ashley home and spend the rest of my night with the
family at my cousin's party cuz you know, Filipino parties don't end
until the sun rises the next morning. Happy birthday btw, to you
cousins in august. Aileen, Rickcel, and Ricky! Also, my mom.
I dropped by Roxie's to pick up Maribel, dropped by Jeff's to pick
something up and that was it. The next morning, I did some last minute
packing, and we ended up leaving at 10:45 AM as opposed to the planned
7 AM start. Man, my family is truly HELLA pinoy.
It's fun up here, but I miss you guys. Take care of yourselves.
